JOB TITLE: Coordinator - Structured Cabling

DEPARTMENT: Network Services

ROLE AND PURPOSE: Coordinates the structured cabling projects and repairs assigned to the Network Services Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Valid Texas Driver's License
• Certification in BICSI is preferred. Experience:
• Five years with Project Management specific to the Structured Cabling industry. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: I.

INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
A. None

II. SCHOOL ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
A. Builds and maintains relationships with appropriate campus and administrative staff.
B. Visit campuses during all phases of structured cabling repairs and installations.
C. Visit campuses to provide appropriate campus personnel with cabling-related information.

III. SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT
A. Work within the Network Services Department to support all phases of the structured cabling life cycle, from design to retirement. B. Assist in determining cabling project requirements in terms of materials and expected timeline.

IV. ADMINISTRATION AND FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
A. Manages structured cabling inventory, installation, maintenance, design, documentation and completion of projects in a professional manner.
B. Manages multiple projects in multiple locations simultaneously.
C. Performs site surveys, prices new projects, attends meetings, and proposes solutions to installation issues.
D. Coordinates vendors, subcontractors, and district personnel to ensure installation completion.
E. Assist in timely procurement and delivery of materials to jobsite.
F. Design and distribute vertical and horizontal pull and patch schedules and prepare detailed distribution, routing and riser diagrams.
G. Assist in managing budgets for both labor and materials in structured cabling projects and provide an estimate of completion of each project on a regular basis.
H. Assist in analysis of existing infrastructure, cabling proposals and specifications.

VI. SCHOOL COMMUNITY RELATIONS
A. Assist management in responding to community concerns or questions related to the district’s structured cabling.

VII. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
A. Remain up to date on new and existing cabling innovations in the industry. Consider application in the district environment and present to management for consideration of application.

VIII. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. None

IX. MISCELLANEOUS
A. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
